Green Building Council’s /Art Museum Design

A modest-sized public edifice situated on the East River's Queens waterfront, the Socrates Sculpture Park stands as a community-driven New York City park with a primary mission of fostering artists in creating and displaying public art.

This project involves the design of a public structure of moderate dimensions, encompassing both indoor and outdoor communal spaces. Its comprehensive scope entails seamlessly integrating structural elements, building enclosure, foundation, heating/cooling systems, site-specific conditions, and carefully selecting exterior and critical interior materials. It emphasizes the optimal utilization of natural daylight and considers climate-related factors.
